"Capital City Shag Extravaganza II"

The Shag Extravaganza 2011 Tri-chairs have finalized the following items:





  1. The beautiful Medallion Center on Garners Ferry Rd is the site for our  Capital City Shag Extravaganza 2011! 
  2. Please bring Food Items/Donations for the Harvest Hope Food Bank. Shag Extravaganza II is for the benefit of Harvest Hope Food Bank & Capital City Shag Club operations.
  3. The TV Raffle tickets are 2 for $10./each.  You could win a 47" LCD HDTV 1080p, 120hz, 4-HDMI!  It is a $1,000. value.  The drawing is on Sat., Mar. 26th at 9:30 p.m..  Please be sure to get a ticket. 
  4. The Hotels are: Holiday Inn Express ($99. suite/night), LaQuinta Hotel ($79. & $89. suites/night)  Ask for Capital City Shag Extravaganza rates.)  Free breakfast each morning at both hotels.
  5. The Hospitality Room is in the La Quinta from 4-5:30 p.m. on Friday & Saturday with shooters, wine tasting, munchies, set ups, etc.  You are welcome to BYOB.
  6. The Association DJs are Gene Sistare and Jimmy Munn.
  7. Sam and Lisa West will do a spotlight dance on Fri., March 25th.
  8. The Hall of Fame Shaggers will be honored on Sat., March 26th with a spotlight dance.
  9. Sam & Lisa West will teach the shag mirror step, female step and male step on Saturday, March 26th.
  10. Cathy McDaniel will teach the Shag Extravaganza II line dance on Saturday, March 26th.
  11. The Fantastic Shakers Band will perform on Saturday, March 26th. starting at 8:30 p.m.
  12. We will have a Silent Auction on Friday & Saturday. 
  13. The Sponsorship/Silent Auction Committee is working diligently to produce a lot of sponsorships and silent auction items to ensure the success of Shag Extravaganza II.  Please let me know if you want to be a sponsor or if you have silent auction items you would donate or if you want to help with the silent auction.
  14. We will have an Ad/Program Book.  Please send ads go to JoAnne Horton jhorton7@sc.rr.com
  15. The Capital City Shag Extravaganza 2011 Shirts will be on sale for $15./each.  
  16. The Shag Shoppe hours are Friday, March 25th starting at 6:00 pm. and on Saturday, March 26th at 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  17. "Wear your Shag Extravaganza Shirt Time!" is on Saturday, March 26th from 11:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. during the shag and line dance lessons. We need our members there to practice the new shag steps with our guests.
  18. "Ask Me To Dance" Stickers will be available for everyone.
  19. Tickets & reserved tables are on sale now. Tickets are $60./person or $600. for a reserved table of 10. There will be no one-day tickets sold.  See Marie for tickets and reserved tables. mkiesel@sc.rr.com

  21. Door Prizes of $100. will be given away on Fri. & Sat. nights and will be chosen from your ticket stub.
  22. We will have Free Pours (Madras and Screwdrivers) at the Medallion Center on Fri. & Sat from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  There will be a Cash Bar at all other times at the Medallion Center.
  23. There will be security guards at Shag Extravaganza II to ensure the safety of our guests. 
  24. The Medallion Center is a Non-Smoking Facility.
